We are continuing the celebration Brazil and the Rio Olympics.  I've been going strong watching all the events. Here we go! More Brazilian recipes this week to celebrate the Rio Olympics. I'm loving them so far, BTW. Yesterday I shared a recipe for Feijoada, a black bean stew from Brazil, to celebrate the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro.  I mentioned farinha in that post. Farinha is basically coarsely ground tapioca flour that has been toasted. It is served a top the feijoada. It gives and interesting crunchy texture and also can control the "soupiness" of the bean by absorbing moisture. It also serves the purpose of extending the number of servings. Who is excited about the Olympics? Anyone? I am disproportionately excited this year. I LOVE the Olympics. Winter and Summer. I love the worldwide competition. I love seeing people from tiny countries competing. I love getting to watch unusual sports like synchronized swimming and badminton, sports that the USA doesn't dominate.  I love to keep track of the medal counts.
