A little bit ago I posted the baby shower cookies I did for my sister-in-law (my brother’s wife.) Guess what? My other sister-in-law (The Strongman’s sister) is also expecting a baby. And this weekend she had a baby shower. Showers, showers, showers!
(And BTW, they did have chicken salad sandwiches at this shower. So it was, indeed, legit.)
Book showers are all the rage right now, it seems. Instead of giving a card, you give the shower-ee a children’s book to start their library. It’s kinda fun. Both the showers I’ve gone to for my sister-in-laws had this theme.
One of my weaknesses is that I’m not super creative. Sure I can make cookies, but I can’t create easily. I can’t even draw stick figures.
So, one of my favorite tricks is to use the invitation for the design. Sometimes it just gives the color scheme, but this time it gave me everything! The cookies are on the left and the folded-over invitation is on the right. (You probably figured that out didn’t you?) I was pretty happy with how they turned out. I didn’t love the stack of books separately, but with the owl, they totally work.
These are my kind of cookies. Simple, but cute!
Congratulations JoHanna! We are excited about Baby T-Rex! And thanks to Emily for hosting an awesome shower.
