A friend contacted me to ask for some anniversary cookies to celebrate six happy years of marriage. When I asked what she wanted for a design, she responded that she wanted something to do with the outdoors. She and her husband LOVE to be in the great outdoors. They love to camp, mountain bike, hike & rock climb. They are quiet adventurous. I told her I would think about it and get back with her.
This “Tree-Huggin’ Love” anniversary cookie idea hit me and I knew they would love it!
I made them a forest of trees with hearts and their initials “carved” on the trunks (although, I know they would NEVER actually do that to a tree.) It captured their love of the outdoors and their love for each other all at once. I even wrote the poem. “Some might think you love to hug trees, but I know you’ll always hug me.” I know, I’ve applied for the Poetry Pulitzer Prize, and am awaiting their verdict very soon.
This was another foray into piping writing onto a cookie. Somebody asked me how I do it. I said, “a piping bag and tip and a little prayer.” I can use more practice to perfect this. It is so nerve-wracking.
Well Happy Anniversary Becca & Spencer. You guys are fantastic and I wish you 6 more, nay 66 more years of outdoor adventuring!
